Never a Failure, Always a Lesson – Rihanna’s New Fashion Line and Upcoming Album

Barbados-born musician Robyn Rihanna Fenty has branched into non-musical outlets over the last five years. Within that time frame, she has been breaking new ground with every new thing that she tries. She released her most critically acclaimed album, Anti in 2016. She started Fenty Beauty, which gained tremendous popularity for its inclusive 40 foundation shade range in 2017. Rihanna also started Savage x Fenty, her all-inclusive shade, style, and size lingerie collection in 2018.

She’s been busy! So, what’s next for Ri-Ri?

A partnership of Rihanna and LVMH, the first luxury fashion house was recently announced to the public. Rihanna is launching her first ever fashion line with the help of LVMH. Sales start at a pop-up in Paris on May 24th, and then will be fully available at fenty.com on May 29th. Rihanna has become the first black woman to run a major luxury fashion house.

“I used Fenty so that you didn’t have to hear the word “Rihanna” every time you saw something that I did. So Rihanna stayed the music, the person. But these other brands are called Fenty,” Rihanna said in an interview with TMagazine.

“I’m really proud of my growth. I’m proud to walk into any building as this person. Nothing about me makes me embarrassed about me,” said Rihanna.

She also confirmed and denied rumors about her upcoming album. It is true that she’s creating a reggae album, although she doesn’t have a title for it yet and doesn’t know when she’ll release it. She doesn’t see a collab with Drake happening in the future, and definitely “Not on this album, that’s for sure,” she said.

Also, the rumored collab with Lady Gaga is “not in the books right now, but I’m not against it,” admitted Rihanna.
