TYLER PERRY opened a massive new movie studio in the Atlanta area over the weekend, and get this . . . the facility is on a 330-acre plot of land that used to be a Confederate army base.
The studio cost $250 million, and it’s the only major film studio in the U.S. that’s owned by an African American. That’s impressive, considering the fact that 20 years ago, he was a struggling playwright who was living out of his car.
Earlier this year, Tyler said, quote, “It’s incredible for this place to have this history and for me to own it. It’s really powerful. I hope this is an inspiration for everybody else.”
