Kelly Clarkson says she was “blackmailed” into working with Dr. Luke, and describes him as a “demeaning” person. Clarkson made the comments yesterday after being asked to comment on the producer’s ongoing legal battle with Kesha, who has accused him of sexual assault. “He’s not a good person to me. We’ve clashed,” Clarkson said.
The singer stressed that she can’t comment “specifically” on Kesha’s allegations, but said, “I can remark on his character. Unfortunately when you have that poor of character, so many artists don’t like working with you. That’s not normal.” Calling Dr. Luke “just not a good guy for me,” Clarkson went on to recall one incident, saying, “Even the last time I worked with him, I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label. They were like, ‘We will not put your album out if you don’t do this.’ It was a really hard time for me.” Clarkson made clear, though, that nothing inappropriately sexual took place.
