In the Age of Social Media, sometimes you can find love AND other things in the most unexpected places. This is especially true for couple Alana Duran and Lori Interlicchio, who matched on August 27th and started dating a month later, last year. When the 25 year old Duran, a college student and 24yearold Interlicchio, a cheerleading coach, met they knew it was love at first sight. As the pair continued to date, Duran admitted to Interlicchio that since she was 12, she suffered from Lupus, which caused her to eventually need dialysis and has since been waiting for a Kidney since 2011, which was becoming dior around the two time two met.
“If I was waiting another 2 more years on top of the 4 I have already waited [for a kidney transplant] then, yes, at that time it might have been life or death,” Duran told TODAY.com via email Wednesday.
Ever the doting girlfriend, Interlicchio sneakily did research and found out, to her surprise, she was a donnor match for Duran. As a way to surprise Interlicchio, Duran revealed not only that she was a match but that she was also willing to donate her kidney to Interlicchio.
