Ryan Gosling has been the subject of a few amusing memes over the years, and the biggest one is “Hey Girl.”
It started more than five years ago, and is basically just a photo of Ryan, with a caption saying “Hey Girl,” followed by corny messages like, “Is your name Google? Because you’re everything I’m searching for.” And “Feel my sweater. Know what it’s made of? Boyfriend material.”
Well, Ryan would like to remind you that he had NOTHING to do with it. He says, “I’ve never said that.” Not INITIALLY.
He did read some of the memes in a few interviews a while back. Here are a couple:
And there’s the “Ryan Gosling won’t eat his cereal” meme, where someone took brief clips of him and added a spoonful of cereal heading toward him to make it look like he was refusing to eat it. (Here’s the UNCENSORED video.)
Now, Ryan says, “That was strange. Just walking down the street, people would say, ‘Why won’t you eat your cereal? Are you too good for cereal?’”
But ‘hey girl,’ you gotta give him credit though, he’s embraced this weirdness. When the guy who created the cereal meme, RyanWMcHenry, died of cancer last year, Ryan posted a Vine of himself finally eating his cereal.
