The Grammys Officially Announced the Nominees: Guess Who Is at the Top of the List

It’s that time of the season. Awards are being passed out to some of our favorites celebrities for their hard work they’ve been putting out for the past year. With that being said, The Grammys have officially announced the nominees for this year’s 62nd annual show.

The Grammys actually made history this year by having two artists nominated in each of the four big categories. The top nominee this year comes by no surprise: Lizzo. Lizzo has had a big a year and topped it off with eight nominations including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. This would be the first time that a new artist is the top nominated artist since Kanye West back in 2004.

Following behind Lizzo is Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X with six nominations. Lil Nas X is the leading male nominee. He earned the record of the year nomination after his single “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus set the record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Billie Eilish is the youngest artist to be nominated at 17 in each of the four big categories. Ariana Grande, H.E.R., and Finneas O’Connell (Billie Eilish’s older brother) followed behind with five nominations. Finneas actually scored a nomination for producing his younger sister’s album and her hit single “Bad Guy” which he also produced and helped co-write.

With so much anticipation, we can’t wait to see who takes home all these awards. The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards is scheduled for January 26, 2020 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be host by Alicia Keys.
