Alex Trebek Lost His Battle with Pancreatic Cancer

ALEX TREBEK lost his battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday.  He passed away at his Los Angeles home, surrounded by family and friends.  He was 80 years old.

Trebek announced in March of last year that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but continued to host “Jeopardy!” as he fought the disease.

His last day of shooting was October 29th . . . just over a week ago.  His final episode will air on Christmas Day.  The show is, quote, “not announcing plans for a new host at this time.”

Hosting “Jeopardy!” since 1984, Trebek won seven Daytime Emmys from 34 nominations, and also a Peabody Award.  He also holds the Guinness World Record for Most Game Show Episodes Hosted.
