Lily Allen has explained why several dates on her West End Girl tour in North America were moved from arenas to smaller venues.
Speaking about the changes, Allen said ticket sales for some shows were not strong enough to support the larger spaces originally booked. She also noted that venue decisions are often based on projections from promoters rather than being made entirely by the artist.
Instead of cancelling multiple concerts, Allen and her team chose smaller venues where possible. The move allows the tour to continue while keeping much of the planned schedule intact.
Among the most notable changes is Chicago, where the show was shifted from the United Center to the smaller Chicago Theatre. Dates in Los Angeles and San Francisco were also moved to reduced-capacity venues, while a Montreal performance was cancelled.
The tour supports Allen’s 2025 album West End Girl and uses a theatrical format built around performing the record in full. Allen has described the presentation as a deliberate part of the album’s storytelling.
